Default Brake Pedal

Hey I got into a wreck in my Ranger and the rear wheel had came off. So i got my truck fixed and everything and now when i push down the brake the pedal goes all way down and they don't work good. Before i had no problem with my brakes.. What could be the problem?

I made sure all the fuilds where filled.

Could it be that my front brake pads are low??

So it sounds like they are not bleeding? I made sure fluid was coming out when i was bleeding and pumped the brakes

brake pads could be low but that would not make the pedal go all the way to the floor and be squishy.

i would suggest pulling you drums off the rear and rear adjusting the shoes to match the drum. see if that fixes it.

i'd damn near put money on it that thats ur problem.

jack up the rear of the truck. put it on jack stands. remove the rear wheels.

if its not adjusted right the drum(s) will practically fall off. to adjust there is what we call a star-wheel adjuster in there you turn that to spread the pads apart. until it contacts the drum firm but still able to spin with a little bit of resistence.

basically all you need is a screwdriver to adjust the star-wheel.

also if i were you i would invest in a haynes manuel or a chiltons repair manuel.

its all pretty simple just takes time to get the feel right
