Exclamation Somebody got help

Well now the truck is deff parked now. I was trying to change oil when the oil filter wouldnt come off. I tried and tried but still nothing so my dad got in on it. We set there for 4 and a half hours trying to get the filter off but it still wont come off. We used Oil Wrench - Oil Strap and even punch a screw driver threw in and it still wont budge. For some reason the oil filter is on the right side instead of left plus theres hardy no room to get anything up into in so idk. I hate to say but i think im might have to get the motor pulled out just to change the oil filter.
Can yall post pics of yall oil filter on a 88 Ranger 2.9 Liter 2wd.

Any opinion are excepted

Its probably rusted on there. Oil isnt something that will prevent corrosion.

i've never heard of one getting stuck on there that bad before i've had them get stuck to where i had to drive a screwdriver through them and use that for leverage... as far as getting it off you may have to cut the shell of the filter off and use a screwdriver on the inside of the threads of the filter and smack the screwdriver with a hammer....

i work at an oil change shop, few months ago had someone call in and said they were changing the oil themselfs and couldn't get the old filter off, manager goes to there house when he got off to see if he could help. all that was left was the base of the filter where it screws on, he used a pair of filter pliers to get it off. had to grab the filter right at the base against the motor

invest in one of these... it goes on a 3/8" drive ratchet wrench. best $40 i've ever spent.

the arms tighten around the filter while you twist it off.

That's pretty intense. I had a similar problem once, what ultimately got the oil filter off was puncturing it with a screw driver, wedging the screwdriver deep inside the oil filter, and just using the leverage on the screwdriver to turn the oil filter. The screw driver was huge so it worked similar to that of a breaker bar.
