Well just got back from still trying to get it off and still no luck. My dad got out there with a huge hammer and chisle and still wouldnt budge. Bout to upload a pic of what it looks like now...

maybe get a channel locks on that inside rib and try and turn it off?? im sure youve probly done lots of things like that tho....

tighten what's remaining of the filter in a vise and use a pipe wrench to loosen it off.. bending it away from the adapter would probably help also.
