2.9 ranger 1988 engine stall

so i bought this truck in november and its ben sitting in garage inbetween projects, so it sat for a month at a time without being ran,
after i put the bed back on and took it for a quick spin it idles okay but as i give it more gas it starts to slow down,, if i completly matt it it seams to want to cut out... not stall but bog, it diddnt do this when i bough it so what do u think it could be?
when the bed was off i had the sending unit out but diddnt replace it
so any help?

I'd probably start with a new fuel filter and a fuel pressure test, and go from there on diagnostics.
