Question Help! Motor oil leaking out of bell housing

1990 Ford Ranger - 2.9 V-6 reman with 80,000 miles - Was running fine this a.m. on the way to work, began leaking motor oil out of the bell housing - looks as though it is dripping out of the rear bell housing drain hole - engine was nice and dry, not using oil, now when idling, it just dribbles out of bell housing - used scope and cannot tell where it is leaking from - any suggestions on what to do? Thanks!

Be sure to look real hard that it's not a valve cover gasket or distributor o-ring. If you can't tell, could crap shoot and just change them - sure would be a lot easier than pulling the engine out to see if it's leaking there. Be sure to also check for excessive crank case pressure (ex PCV system)! Worst case, could be pan gasket, rear main, or a plug.

Are you sure it's engine oil? If so, it's the rear main. I hope not as they're a PITA.
Dark hydro is the clutch slave. If this is the case, you'll lose your clutch real fast.
Dark red is the tranny front seal or the torque converter if an auto.

Either way, you're going to drop the tranny and my advice would be to replace the clutch and slave if applicable while in there unless it's been done recently.

I used to have a '90 2.9L. I loved that truck other than the fact it ate slave cylinders.
