Default 2.9 in a 1983 raanger studder

ok so the motor is in and was runing like a champ untill today when it started to studder it dose it when you hit the gas and when your off but the weird thing is it dose not do it around 35-40 mph but you step on it and starts to studder again so if anyone could give me some advice it would help me out alot thanks

Hey Kevin,
Is it fuel injected? If it is it could be throttle plate shudder. Take a look at my post 1986 missing and bucking--solved???
It might be worn throttle cable links, this causes the throttle plate to wiggle with the engine vacuum and the TPS sends bad signals to the PCM(computer).
