Cel wont flash codes anymore

My 1990 2.9 ranger has a cel light on.

The truck used to give me codes when i jumped the two wires together. Now when i jump the cel just stays lit. No flash

Other issues with truck is:

When cold start, will NOT fire without starter fluid, or gas in the intake. Once started for first time, and warmed, she will continue to fire with zero problems every time after. Until she cools again.

Under the truck, i can hear my new fuel pump in tank prime when key is turned on. But it doesn't stop. It is continually priming.

Have hunch, the cel problem and the priming is related.

The symptoms you describe have been associated with a bad computer, but it's not common for them to go bad. Pull the passenger side kick panel and check for signs of moisture that may have gotten to the computer - that seems to be a common issue when they are found to be bad. Hard to proove whether is the culprit, definitely spend some time checking grounds and looking at other possibilities.

Yea, looked at computer yesterday. Looks dry as bone. Also swapped the eec relay with known working one, and same symptoms.

Its weird for me to think the computer is bad since she will still start and run.

Ill try just swapping with a good computer and see if that makes any difference this afternoon.

If you come up with any other ideas, please let me know. And ill touch back with what happens after testing computer later today.

Well, changed computers, and does the same thing. Just doesnt want to give the codes. Driving me nuts.
Checked every ground i could see, and all look good. Weird that she will still start and run, but the diagnostics wont work.
Any ideas?

Well shooooot!

Now my dads 90 ranger that i borrowed the computer from is doing the SAME thing since i tested his computer in my truck. So i need to buy him a NEW computer. And buy myself a NEW computer. But before installing in my truck, gotta figure out what is making this happen. AHHHH..
