This truck it driving me nuts.. Spent 3 hrs yesterday trying to start it turns over fine has fuel and spark... and nothing. Had someone come help me pull it to his shop and rolling it down the driveway I put it in gear and it started . WTF. That doesn’t make sense. So we change the fuel filter and it seemed to be fine.. About 4 hrs after I got it home I was going to run to the store and nothing wouldn't start again.. After taking the kid to school with the car I got home got in my truck and it started right up.. once again.. WTF. Now I am lost for what is wrong.
Have noted that this happens more when it raining out and not when it's dry / VERY cold. It started fine at -24F+ but is hard to start at 40F when it's raining. But here is the part that is driving me nuts.. WHEN it starts it runs fine all day without any problems. Then the next day it's a crap shoot on if it starts or not...
The part I don't understand is WHY it started when I compression start but wouldn't start at all when using the starter . and it only rolled about 20 feet and started up .
Replaced fuel filter / Cap / plugs / coil / TFI module / Has fuel at the rail.
Do you have a coil and distributor ignition on that? Your ignition coil could be going. I had that on a Geo Metro in the past.
