Default 1989 Ford Ranger having rough start... help!

Just bought a 1989 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4, replaced starter, starter solenoid, premium spark plugs and wire harness set and PCV valve.

Engine still starts very rough when I crank the engine, and not sure what it could be, inspected flywheel, and it looks fine, teeth aren't extremely worn.

A friend suggested that it may be the type of bolts that are used to mount the starter. Not sure if that may be so important. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What is it that the starter is doing that makes you think something is wrong with it?

Is there an inspection plate between the engine and transmission? That's what locates the starter.
