Default positive crankcase ventilation

Hi All
I wonder if someone who has an '87 like mine or similar can help me out with a description or photos of the "positive crankcase ventilation" system.
I have a one inch diameter flexible hose from the rear of the air filter which, on my truck, goes nowhere.
I have a 3/8th rubber tube from the right (passenger) side of the rocker cover which goes onto the inlet manifold in the centre downstream (engine side) of the throttle butterfly. This tube has a mental valve at the rocker cover end.
I have a 3/8th rubber hose from the left (driver) side rocker cover which goes to one of the tubes in the throttle body upstream (airfilter side) of the butterfly.
The other tube upstream of the butterfly connects to the idle valve by a short rubber tube.

I know this isn't right because it doesn't make sense. Any help you can give me on this would be very welcome.
