Default 84 2.8L V6 idle is too low to stay running

So I have an 84 ranger 2.8L (automatic), and it was originally able to stay running because the choke sensor was stuck thinking the engine was cold, so it flooded in extra gas. Now that I have the choke working, it idles too low and won't stay alive. How do I tune the idle so that it runs?

Is this something that just needs to be adjusted? Or is it something that actually requires parts?

Thanks,

jets are what vaporize the fuel in a carburetor so you just dont have liquid gasoline poring into your motor

There is a "fast idle selenoid" (I think thats what it's called) that keeps your carb from dropping idle too fast. It's a complicated procedure but not too difficult, if you can find some good instructions.
