Default 88 ford ranger gets low rpms and dies

My 1988 ford ranger xlt 2wd after runing for a while starts to run like complete crap and gets low rpms and struggles to stay alive please help

Also it just has a horrible time getting to 65. It's ok up until 55 and that's as far as it wants to go and if I hit the gas to hard it sounds like it goes into neutral and get like 3500 rpms and just holds with what seems like no power to the wheels help with this also please need help

Sounds like a transmission problem if it's an automatic or a worn out clutch if it's a manual
Does it run ok other than rpm rising with no increase in speed?

If it isn't throwing a code, and it's running like that it's possible it could be the MAP sensor. I've had similar issues like that, no codes either. In fact, after years of messing with this myself, two sensors that may be acting weird but won't throw a code are the MAP and the TPS. But I would suspect that MAP in your case.
