Default refit inlet manifold

Hi Guys
Any tips on refitting the lower half of the inlet manifold?

I had everything cleaned up beautifully, now I have gasket goo and RTV everywhere. Do you guys use gasket cement on the orange parts of the gasket? i.e. where the air and water passages connect?

When I bolted the manifold down I was astonished at the gap that the RTV has to seal. The position of the heads is fixed by the dowels so that has to be right but ...

Anyway, I'm taking it off to do it again. Any tips you can give me would be very welcome.

There should be two long studs that bolt into the block that align the lower intake manifold when installing. I remember mine being a one piece gasket, but it's been so long since I've had to change a 2.9L lower intake gasket, my memory is real murky on that - about 7 or 8 years ago. But from what I remember, mine had rubber pieces on the ends of the gasket for sealing up the ends of the intake to the block. Yes, you'll need to seal around the intake ports and water jackets, or they will leak.
