Ok so my first post here is actually not about my truck but my brothers. My brother recently bought a 2.9 86 stx ranger with a 5-speed that had a bad engine. The guy he bought it from had another engine that he had started to swap but had run into complications with matching it up with the transmission. So my question involves the flywheel. Apparently there is two different types of flywheels and they are not really interchangeable. I need to know what's the difference between the solid, and dual mass, flywheel? And what is involved in converting between the two?
