Help please!! What’s this wire to?

I have a 1988 ranger and it cut off driving one day. The fuel pumps wasn’t coming on anymore. After many failed fixes I still was stumped!! Today I go out and look at some of the wires and noticed a wire broke in half. I try and twist them together and they broke, it was very fragile. When I turn the truck on now and touch the wires together the fuel pump cuts on so I’m hoping this is the fix! Does anyone know what this wire is to? And how to fix it? Thanks in advance!!
I don’t know how to add pictures to this but it’s a blue wire that connects to a yellow wire that connects to the starter relay. And it has a fusible link connected to other wires?
I tried looking it up online but it didn’t help me really
