Exclamation Gas Line

I have a 2002 Ranger XLT 4.0L. I just noticed that one of my gas lines that feed along the Fram close to the driver rear tire was loose from where it connects to the fuel pump. I pushed it in and started it back up and the vehicle was able to stay on rather boggling down and dying on me. My question is--if all I had todo was push it back in so that the truck stays on should I just tighten it and make SURE that it won't come loose again or should I just replace the hose in its entirety?
