Default 2.9 ranger barely runs

I finally got my truck running after replacing a few parts, barely though.
I just replaced the fuel pressure regulator, ignition coil, distributor with new module, timed at 10 deg, engine was at TDC when distributor was done, also has all new plugs, and all gapped at .045. I even cleaned the EGR hoping for a lucky fix. But my question is does anyone know why the truck will idle with the red vacuum line disconnected from behind the throttle body on the pass side, but not idle when it's connected? With it off it idles very roughly but it will stay running, until I reconnect the line. Checked the vacuum box under the filter box, no cracks, and holds air. All vacuum hoses are connected, but when it's actually running I can hear what sounds like air being blown into a plastic box. Not sure if the rough idle is vacuum related or not. Any help is very appreciated, thank you for any input.

Sounds like the IAC is not working. Removing the vacuum line gives it more air.

I thinking that I'm going to replace the iac line your saying, also the map and the tps. I've cleaned the iac a lot and even hooked up power to it, it seems to function, but that's not to say that it's worker properly. Thank you for the reply.

For anyone else that may have this issue. I've seemed to fix my problem. ECU would not give any codes, so I ended up replacing it with a new one. Truck now starts every time and idles perfectly. I also ended up repositioning the distributor. I Must have not lined it up with the #1 cylinder like I thought I did when replacing it. Hopefully this helps point some others in the right direction
