87 Ranger, top end tick upon startup, any relatively easy remedys, oil pump upgrades? to solve this issue, oil pressure great at idle and climbs up a bit when truckin along.

How long does it tick?
I just rebuilt my 2.9 with new lifters and oil pump. It still ticks for a couple seconds until the oil pressure comes up.
The only fix may be a remote pressurized accumulator.
Since my lifters ticked all the time before the rebuild, I decided not to let the couple seconds of ticking bother me.

Ticks for about 5 seconds til the pressure gauge comes up to norm. I was wondering also if there was a check valve maybe invoked that was leaking a little and not keepin oil up there. Or maybe I'm worrying too much, never had an engine do that for me before.
