Is the starter bolted down tight? I had a bronco 2 that had the same issue. It had stripped out heli-coils and two different size bolts holding it on. I fixed that and it would work for a week or two then spin out again. Then I counted the teeth on the starter and went from a 9 tooth to a 10 and never had a problem till the boy rolled it a year later.
