Default 1988 2.9 XLT 4x4 won't start

Have fuel, have air, won't start. Have 40 lbs of fuel pressure and it holds,
have new air cleaner, noid light will not pulse.
Any ideas on what to do next?

This thread may be dead, but I didn't see any reply to your post and wanted to share what I found when my 88 2.9 acted the same way... Check the small ground wire from the - battery terminal (it's about a 12 or 14 gauge). The one wire is the ground for a number of circuits including the fuel injectors. When I cleaned and reconnected that ground it fired up and ran great.
