Default Engine rebuild

Hey guys I have a 1990 ford ranger custom 2.9l 2wd automatic. I was wondering if anyone knows how much a 2.9l rebuilt engine swap out would cost? or how much would a 4.0l engine swap out would cost? by the way I live in los angeles, ca. thanks very much!

Make sure the head castings are recent. 2.9s had a serious problem with faulty castings.
It didn't show up until you had around 75k on the engine, but then they were junk.
