Question Knocking at highway speeds

I have a 92 2.9l auto, truck runs great except for two problems. the first is that after driving at highway speeds for a few minutes it starts a high pitched knock almost a click that continues until I turn the truck off when i start it again its fine. The second is that it seems really slow when taking off from a stop once it gets up to around 35 it starts accelerating better. Any suggestions on what the knock is or how to fix the slow start?
