what kind of fuel pressure do you have, and is the air filter clean?

A decent fuel pressure tester at the local parts store is $25 or so

Re: 2.9 v6 idles good in park but bogs down when accelerated
so it seems to be fuel pressure...

An engine requires five things to run
Fuel - constant @ at the right pressure
Air
Timing and advance when demand for power is made
Spark
And in the case of all new trucks a computer
You are missing one of these things when you put the truck in gear
My best guess would be fuel pressure dropping or a lack of advance in the distributor
You can check the fuel pressure easily with a gauge
You can check the advance easy with a timing light & someone to put in gear with the brake on

45 idling and 52 accelerating is fuel pressure. its a 5 speed so cant put in gear with foot on break

Do you have an OBD1 tester to pull codes?
If not I would pull the SPOUT connector and see if it does the same thing (disconnecting the SPOUT prevents any advance )
If it does the same thing then I would replace the distributor (you get a new pick-up in the distributor) and replace the TFI
If that does not. Solve the problem then you will need to chase wires & test the computer
Easy cheap stuff first - distributor is like $60-80 a new TFI is like $30-40 so you can do all this for about $100 or so

you should check the fuel pressure regulator too.

If the regulator was bad the pressure would be way high (80 psi) or way low (10 psi) it was in the normal 40-50 psi range so the regulator is good
