Agree. Think it is BS too. Looks like a 1999, so if it was retired in Dec. 2013 it would have had to average over 50,000 miles per year. Also if it was driven that much up north wouldn't it have rusted out by now? BTW I do believe Ford products are capable of such things. Guy near me has a 96 with almost 600k on it.
