Okay so I went down my neighbor driveway in 2 wheel drive and got stuck so I put it in 4 high and I got out on to the road or so I though. I turn it back to 2 wheel now on dry road and I go nowhere!! My rear wheels are locked up!! But I can still go in reverse so I go in reverse all the way home and I'm almost home and decide to try going forward and it worked!! But just now I went to drive my truck and in reverse it worked fine and I try to go forward and my rear wheels are stuck again.

So what could it be?? Transfer case? Brakes locked up? Or like a 4 wheel drive sensor?? I'm stumped as to what to even look up so any ideas would be greatly appreciated! And thanks in advanced

1998 ranger with 4.0 v6 and I use it to plow! My plow is a hydraulic Meyers 6.5
