i did a quick search but couldnt really find what i was looking for so im sorry if this has been asked before like a million times.

so i have a 2004 Ranger with a 3.0L and more importantly a 5 speed manual transmission.

it has that automatic transfer case and i dont like it. it gets fubar'd too easily and i keep having to constantly fiddle with it. i got it to drop in and out of 4HI real good but 4LO is a constant battle. i loved the manualy t-case in my 95 and was wondering if anyone knows the interchangeability of these? i realize i will have to cut a hole in the floor and some other mods which i am fine with i just want to know if anybody has done this or has some good insight on the subject. i would assume i need a good t-case and probably the front drive shaft ???
