I would never suggest anyone jump into extended oci's like that without establishing uoas to ensure everything is optimal to do so. 15 to 25k is a long way to go on any oil. Now as for yearly oci's with most name brand oils off the shelf most people can do it if your only driving 5 to 7k a year. To OP.... todays oils are leaps ans bounds above what thwy were 15 or 20 years ago. Find something with certs to meet the trucks requirements and follow change interval listed in your owners manual and rest easy that most likely it won't die due to oil failure. My old 94 specs six months or 5000 miles and went well over 229000 before I got tboned and totalled. Never burned unusual amounts and no major repairs using almost every shelf name brand available. As for filters though none were better than motorcraft for me I didnt like the startup chatter the others made.
Don't overthink it and follow your owners manual and it will rust away before the oil fails.
