you may have a bent valve or two but i doubt it. the 2.5 is a non-interference motor which means the piston can't hit the valve. whats happeneing is your probably noticing the clicking sound because your driving it looking for a problem and you happened to notice this click that was there before but you are just now noticing it. i'd be concerned with why it died though. you said the timing belt snapped when they went to push start it, not that thats what caused it to die?
