Default Re: who all has rough idle in a 3.0?

Dezzer, this sounds like a classic case of something plugging the fuel pickup in the gas tank. All it takes is a little piece of crud, paper towel, piece of rag etc. The offending piece floats around until it gets close to the pickup and is sucked into position and stops fuel flow. Afte a while of not running the piece floats loose, only to repeat the process. Purchase a fuel pressure gage, ($40 o so) or borrow one, even better. The gages come with good instructions and are easy to hook up. Check the pressure when the truck is running properly so you know how to hook it up and what it should read. Check the pressure As soon as it is safe to do so when it dies. Low or no pressure isolates the problem to bad fuel pump or plugged pickup. Then you pull the tank and check. Good luck. This type of stuff can drive you crazy.
