I can see why someone would want to find a girl who had the same interests, well, at least SOME of the same interests. My wife and I share some common interests, but there are other things that we don't. She loves to shop. The only time I like to shop is if it is for cars, bikes or electronics.
My advise is to go to car shows, Ranger get togethers and whatever else interests you, and talk to the girls there. Don't get all creepy and clingy, just be yourself. If you find one you like, and she seems to be into you, then invite her out for a friendly lunch, or another show you've heard about. Something light and not awkward.
