Did you ever figure out the problem? My 92 Ranger has been garaged kept until i bought it from the original owner and it has 52K miles. The gas gauge and temp gauge don't work. I have attempted to ground the gas sending unit wire and nothing. Same with temp sender.
I have replaced the whole cluster with one from a junked 90 ranger and nothing. I have checked the fuses in the fuse block and they were all good.
Any help on this will make me owe you for life.
