I had the same issue when I first bought my 4.0, got it shipped from Michigan all the way to Texas, the problem was the timing chain,, decided to swap for another 4.0 with fewer miles,,, never had a problem again. Sometimes it's better to switch engines,, but that's just me. Depending on what you want to do.
