Default Re: How To: Adjust Torsion Bars

A lot of people are partially stripping their adjustment bolts (especially the passenger side.) This should make things easier:
A few tips:
1) Use high quality tools: 1/2" SAE 6-point socket (preferrably in the 1/2" drive size.)
2) Try backing the bolts off 1/2 a turn & cleaning them with "PB Blaster." Tighten one full turn then repeat.

Solutions to stripped bolts:
1) Use an impact driver to remove, buy a new bolt, and reinstall.
2) Weld a piece of steel to the head that will allow you leverage.
3) Take it to Ford and let them mess with it.
