Yes...DAO means "Double Action Only"

A striker fired pistol (most anyway these days) ie Glock, FNS, XD's, etc...are DAO.

Some now have kind of a single action setup. Still striker fired, but the striker is basically pulled back and locked in place. Like a 1911 ˘ocked - hammer back

A revolver is not DAO. It is a DA/SA.

DAO - You just squeeze the trigger all the way, ˘ocking the hammer/striker and releasing it in one pull.

SAO - Hammer/Striker already ˘ocked back...the pull just releases it. ie 1911

DA/SA - A revolver or hammer fired pistol. You can pull full length hammer/striker and release as a DA. Then every shot after is a SA pull. (autos)

Example of DA/SA. My FNX-40
