He may also show improvement in function if he replaces the transmission oil with synthetic. If that doesn't help then a transmission additive should be tried. Do not take it to a transmission shop as they'll do a number on you unless you find an honest one. Maybe someone from this forum who lives in the area could go the extra mile and help him. Dave
